The apparel industry is thriving with celebrities left and right trying to find a spot in the fashion lane. This is no different for song writer and rap artist Kanye West and the launch of a classic, no-nonsense, sexy collection-collaboration with with A.P.C. (which stands for Atelier de Production et de Création) founded by current president, Mr. Jean Touitou in 1987. A.P.C. was born to counteract the time when Paris styles were over the top and all you saw was the attire not the person. A.P.C. stands on the belief that clothing should not dominate the wearer and this outlook made A.P.C.well known for it simple yet well made staples. Kanye West is known for his great since of style and an impeccable eye for design. The likes of his girlfriend Kim Kardashian, Kanye has launched a line that has already proved to be a success. According to Fashion Bomb Daily in the first few hours of it's launch date the collection sold out and crashed the A.P.C.'s site. Now that's a launch!
Today, men have more wardrobe options however most times men continue to stay in the simple lane. Kanye's line is value add to any man's closet. The line is not as affordable as one would hope with a price point upward of $250-$280 for a sweatshirt, but the quality is there as it should be with that price tag. The sweatshirt is 100% cotton, nothing special, right? But the sweatshirt seems to be more of a sweater-knit compared to the normal fleece sweatshirt. Additionally, there are product details added not found among other sweatshirts on the market. Such as the fish tail braided hood tie and the polo style tail with a longer back and side slits that are reinforced with grosgrain. The details are undeniable and if you want to afford it I say go for it but if I know my readers (including myself) a Gap sweatshirt will do just fine. If you love a well made piece of clothing like a woman loves a pair of well-made shoes (including myself.. ;) then this is what you are looking for - quality.
What I love about this line is the simplicity and the quality, Kanye didn't set out to reinvent the wheel he made a better quality one. In my opinion, If you are going to invest in staples why not make it a good investment. As stated earlier, A.P.C. is known for simple, well-made staples and the collaboration with Kanye West seems like a match made in apparel.
I don't know, but I love that!
